COREV began with a question. Not 'how do we bring electric vehicles to Africa?' but 'what kind of electric vehicles does Africa actually need?' The difference matters. The first question assumes the technology is settled and the market is the variable. The second question starts from African realities and works backwards to the engineering.
Those realities are specific. Sunshine is abundant — Africa contains some of the world's highest solar irradiance levels across sub-Saharan and East African markets. Grid access is inconsistent — load-shedding, weak rural coverage, and limited public charging infrastructure are structural realities in many operating zones. Routes are long — intercity and peri-urban freight corridors stretch across distances that challenge conventional EV range assumptions. Fleets are under commercial pressure — operators need technology that reduces costs, not just emissions.
COREV's mission is to build clean mobility that takes these realities seriously. That means solar-assisted energy architecture built for African solar conditions, not solar as a marketing feature. It means grid-minimized operation designed around unreliable grid access, not grid-dependent charging that simply relocates the infrastructure dependency. It means AI-enabled fleet intelligence calibrated to African road conditions, route patterns, and operator economics.
The COREV vehicle family — twelve concept classes spanning urban sedans, SUVs, utility pickups, last-mile vans, logistics trucks, agricultural platforms, institutional shuttles, minibuses, and long-haul coaches — is a portfolio built for range of relevance: urban ride-hailing in Nairobi, logistics distribution in Lagos, institutional transport in Cape Town, agricultural utility across rural Zimbabwe and Zambia.
We are at an early stage. The vehicles shown on this site are concept-stage designs, subject to engineering validation, certification, and partner development. But the direction is clear, and the belief behind it is firm. Africa does not need a diluted version of EV technology designed for other markets. It needs electric mobility built for sunshine, for grid constraints, for long routes, and for the commercial realities of fleet operation on this continent. That is what COREV is building — and we are looking for partners who share that conviction.
